We’re excited to announce that Sole Train: Boston Runs Togetherwas awarded the Martin Richard Foundation Impact Grant for 2018! This $25k gift, renewable for two more years, will support Sole Train through 2022 as we expand from 300 Young Soles in 20 schools (and programs including TEEP) to 1000 Young Soles in 50 schools.
The Martin Richard Foundation, formed in memory of Martin Richard, the 8-year-old boy who was killed in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, envisions a place where people recognize the humanity in others and model the decency needed for a united, compassionate, and inclusive community. The foundation looks to advance sportsmanship, inclusion, kindness and peace, just as Sole Train does. It’s truly an honor to be selected for this award; we’re so grateful for the support.
We’re also grateful for the support of the running community: a $20k gift from Adidas this year, $15k in support from Reebok, and great gear, including our new Sole Train jackets and sneakers, from Brooks. All of these will help us continue to empower youth to realize their greatness.
You can help us keep the pace by donating a gift today!
- $50 is enough for Sole Train team wear for a runner (T-shirt, hoodie, and hat)
- $100 is enough for a new pair of running shoes for a Young Sole
- $250 is enough for a Young Sole to participate in all Sole Train events for one year
